Directions
From points north and west (Pittsburg, Cleveland, and
Columbus)
- Get to 522 south at Hancock, MD (this is where I 68 and I 70 come together).
- Take 522 south across the river into WV, immediately after the bridge turn left onto River Road
- Stay on River Road to WV Rt 9
- Left onto Rt 9, go 6.2 miles to Back Creek Valley Road
- Right on Back Creek Valley Road, go 6.9 miles to Sleepy Creek Road
- Bear right onto Sleepy Creek Road, go 1.4 miles
- Blacktop road will turn into gravel road when you enter the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area
- Go another .8 mile, look for black post with yellow numbers on left

- Enter red gate and go back long lane to Lodge.
From east and north (Wash. DC, Baltimore, New York)
- Take I 81 south into WV
- Take Rt. 9 west exit (to Berkeley Springs and Hedgesville)
- Take Rt 9 west through Hedgesville, about .5 mile past Hedgesville look for Back Creek Valley Road on the left, land marks include crossing
a bridge, passing a school on the left and then a church on left, turn left after the church.
- Once on Back Creek Valley Road follow the above directions.
From the south (Winchester, Richmond, North Carolina)
- Take I 81 north into WV, get off at the first exit (Inwood)
- Take Rt 51 west to 4 way stop, go through intersection, you are now on Buck Hill Road
- Stay on Buck Hill Road road until you come to second stop sign (first stop sign is stop except when turning right, you will not stop as you will be turning right)
- At the second stop sign turn right onto Back Creek Valley Road
- Go about 3 miles and look for Sleepy Creek Road on the left, landmark will be the Back Creek Valley Bow and Gun Club on the right (lettering
on chimney, two ponds in front) Sleepy Creek Road is just past on left after crossing small bridge.
- Once on Sleepy Creek Road follow directions above.
